I just wish to thank Solwise for being efficient and responsive in my recent purchase of a discontinued network plug.
I found myself requiring a fourth plug but was unable to source one online anywhere. I contacted Solwise and Steve Mace responded the following day with good news that he was able to supply me with one.
I forwarded my details and my payment and the plug was dispatched and I received the package within two days.

Was informed when checking in at a remote campsite in the south of Morocco, that campsite Wifi was available in and just outside reception. Pitched up on the furthest pitch from reception 150+ meters away because it had fabulous sea views. Set up Patriot Ariel and usb3000repeater recently purchased from you. I called yesterday to ask if the PLV-500AV-PEWN would be compatible with the other Solwise units that I have installed around the house and was informed that it was. I ordered the item at about 14:00 hours (selecting the free delivery option) and was delighted when it arrived this morning. I was even more delighted to find that installing it into my existing network was as simple as plugging it in – fantastic service! It works like a charm and I couldn't be happier with it. It is also a doddle to manage via the Web interface (and no need to change the subnet of my computer to do so either).
When I called I also mentioned that I have had a Solwise PL-500AV-PEVW for a few months, which is a pain to try to set-up and manage (having to change the IP address of my computer to match be on the same subnet as the plug) but more annoyingly it seems to return to its default settings periodically. The chap on the phone said that I should return it to you and that's what I'll do now.
Overall, I'm a happy customer and would definitely use Solwise products and the Solwise Web site in future and recommend them to others.
Hi I thought you may be interested in some of the data rates I am getting having just purchased your 500AV powerline units. The below speed measurements were obtained using my iPad connected wirelessly with a Speedtest app. Case 1 - against main router Homehub5 wireless N ====================================== 68.82 mbs down, 18.56mbs up. Case 2 - against slave router Homehub3 (not N) with link via old Comtrend 9020 powerline ============================================================ 1.11 down 7.07 up Case3 - against slave router Homehub3 with link via new 500AV2 powerline ============================================================ 35.88 down 10.50 up. I repeated the tests after an hour and got 41.08 down and 16.83 up. I've not loaded your CD yet or tried any tuning or moved any of the close by plug-top transformers. The above tests were performed in my three storey Victorian town house with fairly old mains (20 year plus) wiring and very thick stone walls. The main router is on the ground floor at the back of the property. The slave router is on the second floor at the front. The routers are on different mains ring circuits. WiFi will barely penetrate any wall, although wooden floors seem fine. Originally I was using powerline units supplied free with a BT Vision box several years ago to get service to the top floor (my office - I work from home). These were poor in the extreme and far from sufficient for my needs. I had visions of needing to run a cable the length of my home. The old Powerline units always had red lights showing warning of range problems. Replacing the old powerline units with 500AV2 units seems to have drastically improved performance. I was concerned that the reach problem would affect the new units as badly as the old versions, but they seem to be much better at dealing with the mains noise. So far, so good! Here at Solwise, when you make an order and our despatch people want to tell you something about the package there is a system in place that allows them to include a message with your invoice. Recently a message was sent out to a customer saying the following:
'THE TERMINATOR IS IN BAG TAPED TO INSIDE OF CARTON LID'
The customer was obviously tickled by this comment and we got the following reply:
'We opened the box gingerly and looked everywhere for Arnold Schwarzenegger but couldn't find him taped to the
inside of the carton lid. lol.
Other than my warped sense of humour may I say that we found the 2 wire ethernet PL-TP-E500's to be a brilliant piece
of kit. Easy to install and the connection over approx. 180M is running at 100MB.
The router arrived the next day and I am delighted to say it was the easiest router setup I have ever done. Great little product.

I would like to provide you with some feedback on the the Home Plug System we just purchased from you.
We both work at home and therefore need a fast reliable wireless network throughout the house. Additionally we wanted to connect our Sky+ box to the network to receive all the On Demand Channels.
We purchased the 200Mbps HomeplugAV System both wired and wireless.
The wireless now is available now at max levels in all rooms and the Sky+ box is fully up and running with On Demand.
This was the best solution we could have wished for and meets our full expectations, it truly is Plug and Play.
I'm very impressed! My order was placed yesterday afternoon and it was just delivered.

Just to say thank you for providing me with an excellent solution.
I have a fast food kiosk which was recently re-located due to development work in the area. As a result we lost our BT line when we moved some 30 feet, as our new location was on the other side of the main road. BT initially stated they would install a new line free of charge, however this went from being free to a quotation for £4,500 plus VAT!
This left me in a dilemma as I wished to fit a CCTV system and be able to stream the live images over the Internet. I do have a house within 50 feet (in line of sight) of the kiosk, however there is another road to cross. There is broadband installed at this house.
The staff at Solwise recommended I use 2 Engenius 1650's. I am now able to stream the CCTV pictures seamlessly (I have also been able to stream BBC HD on my laptop) and have the option if creating a WIFI hotspot for our customers. This solution was much cheaper than that offered by other similar companies and the technical back up has been very good.
So, for just over £100 Solwise have solved my problem. Just slightly cheaper than BT's £4,500 plus VAT, oh and there is no additional line rental or call charges, which probably saves me another £350 per year (my £7/month, 200min mobile provides all the phone service we need to take orders etc).

Just wanted to say how delighted I am with your wireless 200AV home plug. I used a 200AV mini to connect to my Sky router and plugged in the wireless homeplug 4 floors away (where I had no router signal). The setup of most things internet are very difficult for me but installing and linking your home plugs was really easy and very quick. The wiring of the house is very old and the walls are very thick but the signal from the wireless homeplug is brilliant and internet speed is fast. Because I am stuck with the rubbish Sky router your home plugs are without doubt the best way of getting my home wireless network up to scratch.

I recently purchased a Solwise Gigabit home plug Twin Pack from your website to connect my Cisco broadband router to a Samsung ‘Smart’ TV for Internet TV access, after Wi-Fi access proved inadequate. I just wanted to let you know that the whole process proved to be quick, seamless and entirely successful. The Solwise website was fast and easy to use, as was the secure payment system. Email communication of my order was immediate and the delivery to my home extremely quick. But, best of all, I literally plugged the devices into the power sockets in two separate rooms, noted the constant blue light indicating 100Mbps+ line speed, opened up the Internet channel on the TV and instantly enjoyed uninterrupted iPlayer and (streaming) LoveFilm access for the first time. So! Well done Solwise, for an excellent product and outstanding customer service.

Whilst the solution you described to me to fix my wifi problem seemed perfect, it was almost too good to be true! After downloading the manual from your website, I must admit I was quite sceptical re the setting up of this [you should think of having a 1–page quickstart guide]. I'm moderately tech savvy, but IP addresses, gateways, and a bunch of other jargon and very complex-looking procedures scared the hell out of me!
But all I did was this:
- plugged the base with the cable to BT Homehub
- plugged the wifi plug-in to the wall
- that immediately picked up the Powerline signal
- connected to the Powerline wifi network on my laptop in the normal way
- visited http://188.8.131.52 in Chrome.
- changed the SSID and password.
- saved to flash.
And that's it. It works perfectly! Can get wifi in all parts of the house now! Thanks for a great product and service.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for the excellent service I received regarding the above order for a Pressac ADSL faceplate and an IDC insertion tool.
As I wasn't totally sure of the correct items to order, I spoke with one of your technical consultants beforehand, and was given friendly, comprehensive and easy to understand advice and assistance. I then placed the order at approx 11.55 on Nov 8th, and the package was delivered less than 24 hours later, at 09.30 on Nov 9th.
Being a single female with very little knowledge of telephone wiring, I was dreading having to attempt the repair of a faulty master socket faceplate, given that there are numerous hard wired extensions running from this socket to other rooms in the house. However, with the telephone help I had already received, the easy to use insertion tool and the provision of very clear instructions included with the faceplate, I was able to complete the job in about 10 minutes.
My phone extensions are all functioning perfectly, and my broadband speed is now currently approx 5 times faster than it was with the faulty faceplate, and given that I've saved over £100 on an engineer visit, I am - needless to say very happy!!
My sincere thanks again for the extremely fast delivery, and the professional manner in which your staff gave assistance to a less than knowledgeable customer.

I just wanted to say I've been back again to buy more Solwise stuff. This time I was after a couple of the twin port/wireless Homeplugs - the NET-PL-200AV-PEW-N.
What can I say - as impressed as ever by the ease of ordering and speed of delivery - next day delivery is exactly what I got. After a little panic at first (the default IP address clashed with my router's default gateway address) and a quick mail to John in support that turned out to be unnecessary (it would have sorted itself out I'm told - though I'd already changed the router gateway address - patience is not a virtue I'm strong on) all went smoothly.
The key thing is that this is a cracking little product - neat & tidy, unobtrusive and a good strong wireless signal as well as two Ethernet ports. One of the two I've bought sits quietly behind the TV waiting for the next step of the AV upgrade while servicing my iPhone habit wherever I am - the other in the dining room makes working from home so much easier.

I just ordered eight of these for my client. I fitted them this morning and I was beside myself!
Massive Building 8 luxury apartments , one per apt using 2 x broadband connections in basement (instead of 8 individual connections previous). I should have done this ages ago, anyway, you have saved me much pain.
p.s the strength of the wireless signal on the plugs is better than the previous stuff we were using. A total innovative gem of a product.
Preparing for a down-sizing house move for our third retirement, I realised that there was no telephone point at the new house in the only place available for our computer equipment, whilst the lady of the house was not receptive to the idea of telephone wires trailing from room to room. Networking was clearly the answer, but a subject of which I was completely ignorant. Research on the Internet revealed some likely serious problems with wireless networking, but then I discovered powerline technology and, amongst a number of suppliers, the high regard in which the Solwise Company is held by knowledgeable commentators. An order for an SAR-605EH Home Plug Combo Router and a twinpack of PL-85PE Home Plug Adaptors was delivered in less than two business days.
Though all the hardware worked straight out-of the-box, my total lack of experience with networking gave me difficulties with configuring the computer to logon to the router, in spite of the excellent printed Easy Start guide provided. An email to Solwise asking for a some help or pointers brought an immediate response, suggesting that I telephone for some direct 'ear-to-ear' assistance. Rik Hutchcroft very patiently talked me through the process until the router setup page appeared, from where I was able to complete the process of re-establishing contact with my ISP.
In operation the Solwise Home Plug system performs flawlessly, with no transmission errors reported over hours of connection time. Very conveniently, the network starts automatically as soon as mains power is applied and has connected to my ISP by the time the computer has completed its boot processes. I just cannot praise highly enough the performance of the Home Plug equipment and the quality of the support received from the Solwise Company.

Got delivery of your Home Plugs yesterday. Was slightly concerned if they would work as expected. Got home, plugged one in at the router, walked upstairs to my Mac, plugged in and IMMEDIATLEY connected to the Internet. Quite noticeably quicker than the unstable wireless.
Like I said, I don't often do this but a big thanks for a great product and great service.
